Community Youth Task Team (CYTT) of Sori no.1 promise their support in the execution of GCRN-CB_CR-L-SDGs to it’s full implementation and promised to devote their time towards localizing sustainable development goals project.
PAD’s FM GCRN-CB_CR-L-SDGs five day workshop was successful, the workshop which intend to train twelve Community Youth in localizing SDGs and implementation of a mini project in the community has come to end on 6th August, 2022. The workshop is meant to train Youth in 24 Communities across Ghana.
Ghana Community Radio Network (GCRN) seeks to empower communities across Ghana in 24 community radio stations coverage areas that are at the fore- front of their own development and must be able to interpret, prioritize and the take action regarding their burning SDGs with the core SDGs objective “Leave No One Behind”.
GCRN objectives of the project is to Mobilize and engage our partners’ direct target groups (youth) by enabling them to create and take ownership of localizing the SDGs through grassroots activities, Facilitate the building of synergies, good practices and success stories about localizing the SDGs through a collaborative platform, Lobby and advocate for more supportive policy frameworks that will ensure longer term entrenchment of the various SDGs targets at grassroot levels.
GCRN is the association of Community Radio stations and initiatives in Ghana who walk the philosophy and practice of participatory Community Radio with devotion and passion.The association was formed on 04 December 1999.
As part of it’s vision and mission of GRCN “A world of culturally vibrant communities working together for inclusive, equitable and peaceful development” and “To grow Participatory Community Radio for All to have a Voice and exercise their Right to Communicate for their collective well-being” seeks to equip youth in localizing SDGs to help attain aims of the SDGs in Ghana.
PAD FM training came to a successful end with 15 to 16 participants recorded everyday to which they say is as a result of community members being serious with the project.
Speaking to one the participant Mr. Kantam, after the five day workshop, he said the workshop has really build their capacity in knowing SDGs and their abilities to take up a project on their own, stating that the initiating Community Youth Forum and the Community Engagement Dialogue is a great impact in their everyday life and activities which will go a long way to help them as well as the democratic way of communication
He thanked the organizers of the project and call on his colleagues to devote and commite themselves towards the realization of the project for the benefit of themselves and the community at large and also not to disappoint the community and their colleague youths who selected them on their behalf.
He also stressed on the need of the team (CYTT) to be united and devoted in work together as a team in achieving a common goal.
As part of GCRN -SDGs, Anchoring a civil society model towards localizing the SDGs project, PADFM in Damongo, Savannah Regional capital of Ghana, ended its Community Youth Task Team (CYTT) capacity building workshop on the 6th August, 2022 at the radio station (PAD FM).
