Mrs. Gifty Twum Ampofo, the Deputy Minister for Education has called upon parents to inculcate a sense of discipline in their children, underlining its pivotal role in a student’s academic journey.
During her address at the 5th Annual National Education Consultation organized by the Presbyterian Church of Ghana in Koforidua, Mrs. Twum Ampofo emphasized that education plays a crucial role in the overall progress of any nation, thus warranting focused attention.
Appealing to the Presbyterian Church, she encouraged the continued promotion of quality teaching and learning within their schools and effective supervision to ensure educational excellence.
Rt. Rev Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mantey, the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church, firmly stated the church’s commitment to upholding discipline within its schools, highlighting its historical significance and asserting that external pressures would not sway this stance.
Mr. Seth Kwame Frimpong, the Eastern Regional Minister, acknowledged the Presby Church’s pivotal role in advancing quality education, evident through its establishment of exceptional educational institutions.
He further stressed the importance of Christian schools in nurturing morally conscious individuals, a crucial ingredient for the nation’s development.
Daasebre Kwaku Boateng III, the Omanhene of New Juaben Traditional Area, applauded the Presbyterian Church for its contributions to promoting quality education. He encouraged the church to continue its efforts for the betterment of the region and the entire nation.
