The timely intervention by the Ghana National Fire Service prevented a complete burn down of one of the staff bungalows of Damongo Senior High School (DASS).
The bungalow, which is close to the Girls dormitory caught fire on Monday 16th December, 2024, at about 11:35am.
The school authorities quickly reached out to the fire service for support and the fire service timely response halted the total burn down of the bungalow.
The team arrived at the school well prepared and quickly put off the fire.
The cause of the fire is immediately not known as the fire service is conducting investigations.
Damongo SHS is the first senior high school in the Savannah region of Ghana. It was established in 1971 and is based in Damongo, the Savannah regional capital.
