The 2021 BECE Candidates in the West Gonja municipality of the Savannah region have started the common mock examinations sponsored by the MP for Damongo constituency, Samuel Abu Jinapor on Monday, 20th September, 2021.
The Lands and Natural Resources minister, Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor organized the mock examinations for the candidates in the Damongo Constituency through the Ghana Education service ( GES) and the MP’s education committee as part of his commitment to help prepare the candidates for their final examinations scheduled for November, 2021.
Mr. Bawa Fuseini a.k.a Capacity, the Coordinator at the office of the Member of Parliament who monitored the ongoing mock examinations with the municipal education director and some staff of the Ghana Education service (GES), explained that the member of parliament and minister for lands and Natural resources is very passionate about education in the municipality hence the reason for his sponsored seven (7) weeks extra classes and mock examinations for this year’s BECE Candidates across the Constituency.
He further explained that it is the wish and dream of the Hon. MP to see an upright change in the performances of both BECE and WASSCE candidates in the coming years.
The Municipal Education Director, Mr Akey Ferguson in a brief remarks, expressed gratitude to the member of parliament for the intervention. He added that he is currently the most happiest Director because “this intervention will give the candidates the exposure and prepare them to what they will be expecting in November”.
He urged the candidates to continue to learn and to take the extra classes shouldered by the Hon. MP, seriously.
Mr Bukari Yahaya Abdulai who spoke on behalf of the MP’s education committee explained that thirty (30) junior high schools are participating in the MP’s sponsored common mock examinations with questions set by teachers in the Municipality and invigilated by Headteachers in the Municipality to enable them experience the behavior of students in the examination room, which will be discussed among Headteachers and staff immediately after the mock examinations and later with candidates in the various schools.
The MP’s sponsored common mock examinations commenced on monday 20th September, 2021 and will end on Monday 27th September, 2021.
