Damongo-based Division Two side, Mole Nationals FC, is enjoying a remarkable season in the ongoing 2025/2026 Northern Regional Football Association Division Two League, but continues to receive limited attention and financial backing from key stakeholders and benefactors across the area.
Despite strong management, committed technical handlers, and a determined playing body, the club has not received the needed level of support many of its followers believe is necessary to secure promotion to the Access Bank Division One League.
Supporters of Mole Nationals FC argue that with primary but strategic financial support, the club stands a realistic chance of qualifying for Division One, an achievement they say would catalyze talent development in Damongo and beyond.
Grouped in Zone Six alongside Yagbon Stars, Daboya Young Stars, Wasipe FC, Buipe Scorpions, Boresa FC, and Blue City FC from Busunu, the Damongo side remains unbeaten after Match Day 9, sitting comfortably at the summit of the table.
Speaking to Abdulai Zulkaninu in Damongo, some club followers describe Mole Nationals FC as the most balanced and competitive outfit in all aspects of the game within the zone.
Mr. Boresa Karim said “Mole Nationals FC is the perfect balanced team so far in the zone and will need support to qualify for Division One League”.
Stakeholders, particularly indigenes from Northern Ghana and well-placed personalities across the country, are being urged to rally behind the club to help secure promotion.
Mr. Alhassan Abass, a supporter of the club believes that “playing Division One football would open new pathways for youth development, create business opportunities within the local sports economy, strengthen tourism, and generate revenue for the local assembly”.
