During the event held on Saturday October 7th, 2023, he urged the people of Buipe, including chiefs, youth associations, and civil society organizations to unite and create a harmonious environment to uphold and strengthen the hard-earned peace in the traditional area, essential for its development.

Buipewura emphasized the significance of preserving and promoting their cultural traditions to gain international recognition, as culture and tradition form the bedrock of identity and roots.

He stressed the need for social cohesion and human relationship development within the Buipe Traditional Area, emphasizing that without it, the region’s progress would remain incomplete.

Buipewura also touched on chieftaincy and development, highlighting the role of chiefs as agents of development and change.

He called for adherence to customary processes in selecting and installing chiefs to avoid conflicts, emphasizing that chieftaincy in Ghana is determined by birth or DNA.

Education took center stage in Buipewura’s speech, as he emphasized that a nation’s development hinges on education in the 21st century and urged all stakeholders, including parents, teachers, and businesspeople, to prioritize education in their development agenda.

Buipewura’s 15-year reign has been marked by contributions to peace, environmental conservation, and attracting investments to the Savannah region.

He has also fostered social relationships within and beyond the region.
Buipewura also used the event to appeal to the government to create a new district out of the Central Gonja District to enhance administrative coordination for the people.

Stephen Asamoah Boateng

The Minister for Chieftaincy, Hon. Stephen Asamoah Boateng, commended Buipewura for his peaceful rule and unity in the Buipe Traditional Area, highlighting the significance of the Gonja succession process as a model for others.

Former President John Dramani Mahama praised Buipewura’s dignified and forward-looking leadership during his 15-year tenure.
