Fire Accident Leaves Two Siblings Critically Injured in Damongo

In a tragic incident, two siblings from Damongo-Zongo in the West Gonja Municipality of the savannah region have been hospitalized at the St. Anne’s Catholic Hospital following a fire accident that left them in critical conditions.

Reports indicate that the elder sister of the two affected victims inadvertently ignited a fire while using hand sanitizer, which led to her two younger brothers being engulfed in flames.

Mr. Abubakari Sadique, an uncle to the victims , disclosed in an interview with this source that one of the victims, due to the severity of his burns, has been referred to Tamale for further medical attention. However, financial constraints have hindered the family’s ability to transfer him to the Tamale Teaching Hospital promptly.

As of the time of this report, the referred boy remains at St. Anne’s Catholic Hospital in Damongo, awaiting the necessary funds for transfer.

Meanwhile, the other victim, whose condition is comparatively less severe, is receiving treatment at the hospital.

The family is appealing for assistance from well-wishers to enable them to afford the required medical care and transportation costs to ensure the survival and recovery of the injured siblings.

Authorities are reminding the public to exercise caution when handling flammable materials, emphasizing the importance of fire safety measures to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.

The community is urged to rally support for the affected family during this challenging time, as efforts are made to provide the necessary medical care and support for the injured siblings.
