About fifty (50) children of the Ave Hope kids club foundation in Damongo have benefited from a day’s workshop in Damongo.
The workshop which was held on Saturday, 27th May, 2023 was under the theme: “identifying my abilities”, focused at helping the children to be able to identify their abilities and how to work towards achieving those abilities.
Assemblyman for Canteen Electoral Area, honorable Ananpansah Bartholomew Abraham, who is the founder of the Damongo Youth Parliament and CEO of AB Fun Club facilitated the workshop and took the children through the various ways to identify and develop their abilities.
Mr. Bonah Dakura Jonathan, a Company President for Marketing and Communications (CPMAC) officer at Ave Hope club in an interview with our reporter explained that, the workshop was meant to enable the kids develop their abilities to become the visionary people that they will want to become in future especially with those of them who wished to become leaders.
He said many of the children have the abilities to becoming whatever they wished to be but do not know how to go about them, adding that, they don’t know how to identify those abilities which they can use to benefit themselves.
Mr. Jonathan further explained that, One of the aims of the workshop is to teach the children the various skills and how to identify their abilities as human beings so that they can use them, nurture them and develop them so that the will help them become the people they want to become in future.
He also disclosed that, the workshop is purposely for members of the Ave hope kids club and that, it is not the first time they are organising such an event.
He added that, their workshops are organized based on topics with this particular one organized specifically on how the kids can identify their abilities.
He also noted that there will be subsequent workshops which will specifically teach the kids how to blow trumpet together with other new skills they will acquire to themselves.
When asked if Ave Hope kids club is ready for any form of partnership, Mr. Jonathan said, Ave hope is willing to partner with other organizations as far as the works of those organizations are geared towards the development of kids.
He also said, their doors are opened and their social media handles and contacts are available especially through their executive Director, Madam Ewuntomah Joana.
The facilitator for the workshop, hon. Ananpansah B Abraham, a child and youth advocate and Assembly Member for the Canteen took the kids through an interactive and engaging session on the theme to help the kids explore and identify their unique talents, strengths, and abilities.
He also encouraged self-reflection and provided practical activities which were aimed at empowering the children to recognize their potentials and how to build self-confidence.
He encouraged the kids to identify their own strengths and talents representing various abilities such as art, sports, music, problem-solving, communication, etc.
The participatory learning session saw the children identifying their own abilities and choosing role models, life coaches and mentors that can help them realize those potentials for the future.
