Some lead Islamic clerics representing the Association of muslims in the Savannah region has on Sunday, 2nd march, 2023 paid a courtesy call on the king and Overload of the Gonja Kingdom, HRH Yagbonwura Bii – kunuto
Jewu Soale ( I ) at his temporal residence in Damongo.
The team was led by Sheikh Mohammed Kamil Eliasu from Damongo, Sheikh Abubakar Ishak, Mallam Imoro and Alhaji seidu.
The Association is comprised of islamic clerics from Daboya, Bole, Buipe,Tulwe, Debra and Kadelso all in the Savannah Region.
According to the delegation, their visit was for them to congratulate the King on his enskinment as the new Yagbonwura for the Gonja Kingdom and to also offer him prayers for Allah’s blessings and guidance on his leadership in the special month of Ramadan.
The Association donated some tubers of yam to support him take care of his numerous visitors at his palace.
The king, Yagbonwura Bii – kunuto Jewu soale (I) Thanked the Islamic clerics for their visit and the kindness showed him and pleaded for more of their prayers to make him over come all challenges during his reign.
He concluded by wishing them travelling mercies back to their various destinations and asked that, the continue to pray for gonjaland and the country as well.
