The paramount chief for the Buipe Traditional area and vice president of the Savannah regional house of chiefs, Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II has annulled the appointment of Ibrahim Musah Bure as Mande fulani youth chief in the Buipe Traditional area.
Buipewura Jinapor II made this known when addressed the people of Buipe on matters of social concern in a press conference on Monday, 16th January, 2023 at his palace in Buipe.
Ibrahim Musah Bure was appointment a Fulani youth chief of a community called Mande, a suburb in Buipe some weeks ago which did not go well with some aggrieved youth who subsequently embarked on a demonstration to protest his appointment.
Buipewura Jinapor II in his presser explained that the annulment of Ibrahim Musah Bure forms part of his commitment to ensure peace and tranquility in the buipe area.
In addressing the challenging issues at hand, the revered chief constituted a 7 member committee which included some members of the youth to come up with recommendations on how to address the impasse, he said.
He added that, the committee in conjunction with the District Security Council ( DISEC ) presented a roadmap for his consideration which he did not edit or altered any portion of it but wholeheartedly accepted the contents of the recommendations and adopted it leading to the annulment of the earlier enskinment of Ibrahim Musah Bure as mande fulani youth chief.
After denouncing the position of Ibrahim Musah Bure as a fulani youth chief for Mande in the Buipe area, Buipewura expressed shock to hear that some members of the youth group in connivance with none-indigenes who went on a vandalism spree destroying and setting houses of people of Fulani extraction on fire.
He noted with concern on how some disgruntled elements are determined to derail the peace process and to also ferment trouble in the Buipe area.
He also expressed his commitment and determination to ensure that there is peace, not only in Buipe but in the entire Gonjaland hence, will continue with the implementation of the recommendations of the committee and will not allow any such barbaric acts to derail the peace processes.
He however called on the security agencies to ensure that criminal activities are isolated from traditional matters and that whoever is found capable in the heinous crime of arson faces the full rigorous of the law.
He urged his chiefs, subjects, and the youth in particular to exercise restraint in the face of the unprovoked aggression.
Meanwhile the Chairman of the 7 member committee, Danyanpewura Iddisah has said that, the committee in it’s findings has established that no land has been sold in bulk to any individual or the Fulani community in Buipe and that lands at the Mande suburb are available to individuals or group for development through the newly esnkinned Mandewura Alhassan J.B. Abdulai .
