The NPP in the five regions of the Northern zone, has commended Ghana’s president, Nana Akufo-Addo for assigning additional role to the MP for Damongo Constituency Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor.
Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor is the current minister for Lands and Natural Resources minister.
On Friday, January 13, 2023, president Nana Akufo-Addo assigned the Trade and Industry ministry to Abu Jinapor following the resignation of sector Minister, John Alan K to concentrate on his presidential ambition.
The president hitherto asked the finance minister to man the trade and industry ministry and later tasked Abu Jinapor as the acting minister until a substantive minister is appointed.
In a release signed by the five NPP regional Secretaries in the five regions of the northern zone thus; North East region, Northern region, Savannah region, Upper West and East regions, it states that “the North is very appreciative of the recognition of such a young, courageous and intelligent brain to assist in the governance of our dear country. The posture of Mr. President in the nurturing of younger politicians into government is commendable”.

REGIONS OF THE NORTH THANK HIS EXCELLENCY PRESIDENT AKUFO-ADDO FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF LAWYER ABU JINAPOR AS CARETAKER MINISTER FOR THE MINISTRY OF TRADE AND INDUSTRY
The President of the Republic, H.E President Akufo-Addo, yesterday handed the Trade and Industry Ministry to Hon. Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor, the current Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and MP for Damango.
From the North in general, this statement is to graciously thank H.E the President for the confidence reposed in this young Minister of today.
The North is very appreciative of the recognition of such a young, courageous and intelligent brain to assist in the governance of our dear country. The posture of Mr. President in the nurturing of younger politicians into government is commendable.
And to the Hon. Minister, Congratulations for this height chalked. The North is proud of your exploits. Your sterling performance is exemplary. Having diligently manned the Natural Resources Ministry, it is clear you have more than what it takes to do more for the nation.
Against all the odds, you “broke protocol” by winning the Damango seat for the NPP for the first time; the lives and livelihoods have been positively affected through you.
