Buipewura Jinapor II Abdulai, the paramount chief of Buipe traditional area has called on the chiefs, Queen mothers and youth to embrace the beautiful Gonja traditions and culture to help sustain the heritage of the people.
In an address read on his behalf by Abutu Kapori, the Secretary to the Savannah Regional House of Chiefs, the Buipewura Jinapor II stated ” let’s keep every bit of the tradition in viewpoint and further promote it to catch international attention. This is necessary the fact that culture and tradition defines one’s roots and identity as reiterated by Mahatma Gandhi”.
It is therefore an unsurpassed match for the theme of this year’s BUDAFEST 2022 Damba dubbed, “Preserving Our Cultural Heritage Through Social Cohesion: The Role of Chiefs and Citizens of
Buipe Traditional Area”.

DAMBA FESTIVAL
Damba festival in the Gonja Kingdom is most revered and singled out as one of the momentous
traditional festivals celebrated to commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W.) It is held in high esteem by the people of the entire traditional area because it represents the beautiful culture and tradition of the Kingdom.
Let’s keep every bit of

PEACE
There is a robust sign of social cohesion and human relationship development in the Buipe Traditional Area. The forward march of the Traditional Area will remain indescribable history if the social cohesion factor is not intensified. I therefore, call on the chiefs and people of the Buipe Traditional Area, as well as various youth associations and Civil Society Organisations to cooperate and create a tranquil atmosphere for absolute peace to predominate.
This will anchor and cement the hard earned peace of the Traditional Area for development to
take-off.
Let me applaud the people of the Traditional Area for your swift contributions towards peace. This special characteristic of you in promoting peace has advanced and prepared the smooth grounds
for investors to trade in the area for an enhanced socio-economic development and benefits for the area.

Kingdom may the Almighty Allah continue to grant you more life, good health, wisdom as the leader of the great Gonja Kingdom to achieve the needed development. Your leadership is
unsurpassed. The chiefs of the Kingdom will help you achieve your dreams as the Yagbonwura.
Development of the Gonja Kingdom has moved beyond the shores of Ghana. This and many others warranted Buipewura Jinapor II to lead a delegation to the United
States of America to woo investors and the diaspora community to invest in the Savannah Region.
Our responsibility is to project the peace of the region for a smooth take-off.
EDUCATION
Ladies and gentlemen, education is the most powerful weapon and chauffeur of change across the world. I therefore use this premise to encourage sons and daughters of the Buipe Traditional Area, parents, teachers, chiefs, businessmen and women to put all hands on deck to achieve colourful glories in education for the betterment of the Traditional Area. My dear sons and daughters make us proud in the educational sector. In 2023, I will institute the Jinapor II extra ordinary educational scholarship package for outstanding and distinguished performing students for the Traditional Area.
I also want to crave the indulgence of our partners, civil society organisations, individuals as well as government machinery and the international front to extend your invisible hands to support the displaced settlement and individuals in Buipe. This sad natural phenomenon happened as a result of the spillage of the Bagre Dam. It affected lives, properties, and rendered about 95% of the people affected homeless and making lives unbearable.
This year mark my 14th year as Buipewura and by His grace, next year I will be 15 years on the Buipe throne. On behalf of the chiefs and people of the
Buipe Traditional Area, I extend a special invitation to your office, traditional area, institutions, individuals, philanthropists, businessmen and women, youth associations, the diaspora, International bodies and institutions, the sixteen regions of Ghana and beyond to come and join me celebrate my 15th anniversary as Buipewura and 75th birth day to appreciate God for his protection and guidance in life.
Again, as part of my 15th anniversary celebrations, I’m privilege and honored to host the 47TH
annual Congress of the vibrant Gonjaland Youth Association here in Buipe.
In this regard, next year is described as the year of ACTION AND DEVELOPMENT. With joy and elation, the 15th anniversary of Jira Buipewura Jinapor II which will take-off from 2023 is duly launched.
In conclusion, I genuinely wish to express my profound gratitude to the special guest of honour, the Savannah Regional Minister, MPs, MDCEs, paramount chiefs, custodians of our culture and tradition, all
invited guest and all lovers of tradition, I say thank you for making BUDAFEST 2022 a great
success. May the Almighty Allah grant you travelling mercies to your respective destinations.
