The Member of Parliament for the Damongo constituency, Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor has supported 100 tertiary students in the Damongo constituency who gained admissions into tertiary institutions for the 2021/2022 academic year.
Each beneficiary student received Ghc 500 of the MP’s suppor to aid in the payment of their school fees.
The Coordinator at the office of the Member of Parliament, Mr Bawa Fuseini (Capacity), disclosed that the support to the needy but brilliant students was fully funded by Hon. Abu Jinapor and that, the office received thousands of applications for financial support but 100 were shortlisted for the support which forms part of the first batch.
Bawa Fuseini disclosed a total of Ghc 50,000 was disbursed to the students to help them cater for their admission fees and other related expenses.
He added that, the law maker has also extended similar support to some continuing students of the various tertiary institutions born out of his belief that, “Education should be a right but not a privilege for the limited few”.
