The NPP Communications Director (CD) for Salaga South Constituency has expressed gratitude to the leadership of NPP in the Savannah region led by the NPP Regional Chairman (Alhaji Sulemana Iddrisu) for delivering three (3) seats for the party in the last general elections.
Mr Hamza Abdul-Mumin opines that it takes a hero or famous person like the Savannah Regional Chairman of the NPP to be celebrated by all, including antagonists, after achieving good records from a titanic battlefield, most especially when a custodian is able to bring down a flag-bearer’s flag on the land of the flag-bearer’s home.
Mr Hamza Abdul-Mumin claimed that it is not easy to do anti NDC politics in the Savannah Region because the area is a strong hold of the opposition NDC and more so, for the fact that the former president John Dramani Mahama and leader of the NDC is a son of the Savannah land.
The Salaga South Communications Director pointed out, before the partition of the old Northern region, that the NPP occupied only one (1) seat out of the seven (7) seats in parliament as far as the Savannah region was concerned.
“In fact, the NDC saw that single seat won by the NPP in Salaga South as a thorn in their flesh and so they strived so hard by devising strategies to reclaim the Salaga South parliamentary seat from the NPP”.
Mr Hamza said, but for the creation of the Savannah region, the NDC could have swept eight (8) seat from the Gonjaland including Kpandai Constituency.
The Communications Director added that the creation of the Savannah region gave birth to Alhaji Sulemana Iddrisu as the first NPP Regional Chairman in the young region. Alhaji Sulemana Iddrisu is popularly known and called Professor Kalamonia in the then Northern region. The Salaga South Communications Director pointed out that while Professor Kalamonia was commuting from one constituency to another, canvassing support and advertising the good works of the Nana Akufo-Addo’s led NPP government in the 2020 general elections, the NDC Regional Chairman was just singing lullabies with war drums. The Communication Director rationalized that looking at the vital role played by the NPP Regional Chairman in the Savannah region, one could definitely predict good results for the NPP ahead of the 2020 general elections then.
The power of Alhaji Sulemana Iddrisu from Bole to STK, from Damango to Daboya, from Yapei/Kusawgu, Salaga North and to Salaga South it was clear the NPP will gain more grounds.
By logical extension, Hamza submitted that for the first time in 28 years of his political experience, he has witnessed a Regional Chairman worked who tirelessly and assiduously as if a polling station executive member from all angles of his regional constituency. He said as far as Salaga North was concerned, complementing the efforts of the Regional Chairman in snatching the parliamentary seat from the NDC, that another personality worthy of hailing is the former Damongo Constituency Chairman Nana Kwame Aboagy; “Chairman Aseda.
Chairman kwame is also applauded vociferously for assisting the NPP in the Eastern part of Gonja.
Hamza eulogized the NPP Regional Chairman for winning three seats from the camp of President John Dramani Mahama (JDM) for the NPP, and admitted that it was not an easy task to execute but the Professor in politics (Chairman Kalamonia) has made the NPP proud. He described Professor Kalamonia as a bulldozer and volcanic Regional Chairman without whom such a good result, stupendous performance could have been a difficult and mountainous hill to ascend.
Hamza expressed gratitude to all the regional executives, the constituency executives and the grass root executives of the NPP in the Savannah enclave for a collective job executed.
He called on all and sundry to join hands with him to thank and hail Alhaji Sulemana Iddrisu for the success chalked so far.
