Background story
On the 11th July, 2021 Busunu Micro Boys Fc were playing the last match of the first round of the West Gonja District Juvenile League game against Pro Stars at the St Peter’s park in Busunu
Twenty one minutes into the game, referee Faiza Jakpa had to temporarily stop the game after home fans invaded the pitch and verbally assaulted her and threatened her for a decision to send off a Busunu
Micro Boys player.
The player was sent off for verbal assault and the use of abusive words on the referee.
According to the referees report, an infringement was awarded to Busunu Micro Boys in the 21st minute and after whistling for a restart, a Pro Star player with jersey number 3 stood the way to prevent the kick from been taken and a yellow card was issued to him in that regard.
The referee’s action and decision still seem not to go down well with a Busunu Micro Boy with jersey number 18 which resulted in the verbal exchange.
The home fans were not happy with the referee’s decision either. They thronged onto the pitch to insult and assault the referee verbally.
After the safety of officials could not be guaranteed and with darkness approaching the game was brought to an abrupt end. Having reviewed the match report the Disciplinary Committee sat on the issue and made its recommendations.
