Ghana’s minister of Lands and Natural Resources and Member of Parliament (MP) for the Damongo constituency, Samuel Abu Jinapor has said the NPP remains the best political party in Ghana with best national policy implementation or execution that has transformed the country sector by sector and overall development of the nation.
Abu Jinapor explained that the best policy to have happened to Ghana’s health sector is the National Health Insurance Scheme, which was introduced by NPP.
In the agriculture sector, the government’s Planting for Food and Jobs is the best policy that is transforming the country’s agriculture.
The LEAP program has been supporting vulnerable persons in Ghana especially, the women and rural poor.
The Free Senior High School policy, is the greatest policy in Ghana’s education that is giving equal access to all students in all the 16 regions of Ghana. The NPP also introduced the school feeding at the basic school level to improve education and enrollment for a better future of Ghana.
Abu Jinapor said this during the 2021 NPP Annual Delegates Conference for the Damongo constituency on Friday 3rd September, 2021.
The 2021 Annual Delegates Conference was held under the theme: forging ahead in unity to consolidate our gains.
The Damongo MP therefore, called on all party faithfuls to remain loyal to the party and proffer ideas to help the NPP break the eight-year tradition under the fourth republic and that the party must work hard to maintain the Damongo seat for a longer period.
He promised not to do anything untoward to any member of the NPP in the constituency and said he will treat all of them equally. He however, appealed to all party members to remain patient as “God’s time is the best”.
Abu Jinapor assured what the NDC saw in 2020 general elections was just fraction of their hard work and that he will lead a solid team in the 2024 elections to win more votes in the Savannah region.
The Savannah Regional Mr. Saeed Jibril Muhazu appealed to all constituents to remain calm and allow Abu Jinapor to go unopposed for three (3) different terms as MP for the Damongo Constituency.
“I want to plead with all NPP members who have interest in contesting the NPP primaries for the Damongo seat to wait patiently and rally behind Abu Jinapor to win the seat continuously for 12 years and more. I am eyeing the Damongo seat myself but I will patiently wait for Abu Jinapor to complete at least 12 years in Parliament”, he said.
A Deputy Chief Executive Officer for the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, Mr. Albert Kasim Diwura also appealed to all party faithfuls to support the Damongo MP to bring more success to the area.
The NPP conference drew 462 participants from across all the 87 polling stations, Zonal Coordinators, party founding fathers, constituency and regional executives, MDCEs, among others.
The NPP Savannah regional chairman, Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana, Member of Parliament for Yendi constituency, Farouk Aliu Mahama, Constituency Secretary Musah Kusubari, Constituency Treasurer Abubakari Ali and a host of other leading members gave solidarity messages.
