The West Gonja Municipal Director of the National Disaster Management Organization Mr Adam Bavug has on Thursday visited the homes of some people in the Municipality who had their houses roofed off by the recent rainstorm.
He presented some food items such as rice, a liter of cooking oil and other items such as buckets bathing soap, rubber bowls, cups and among others.
The Director out off his busy schedule took his time to visit and interact with the beneficiaries, Mr Adams, bemoaned his outfit is handicap but is much concerned of the plight of the people, most especially those affected by disaster.
He further stated that though disaster is inevitable, but it is in the interest of the organization that people take pro-active steps to reduce the frequent occurrence of natural disaster.
One of the beneficiaries of the support from NADMO, Mma Kache-kurewe a 70 years women who had her building roofed off about a month ago, was full of praises for the NADMO director and his organization, for not turning their back on them.
She said since the time the sad incident occured the outfit has always keep in touch with her till today. And the fact that they are here to help her with food items which is much a challenge to her, but for this kind gesture she is much grateful to them because as a widow she couldn’t move out to the center where all affected persons where but Nadmo came to her house so she could also benefit from the support.
The general public and all Those that received the relief package thank the Director and his staff for the kind gesture done them.
