Residents living in and around Pastor-kura and Agric Residential Area in the Attributo/Abingakura electoral area in the West Gonja municipality of the Savannah region are currently living in crisis and crying for help.
The recent continuous heavy down pours in the municipality beginning early August till now has led to the collapsed of the only footbridge that assists pedestrian and motorist cross to and fro town.
This is preventing residents access to town for their economic and day to day activities, hence making life very unbearable for them.
Market women, farmers, school children and other businesses are facing serious crisis as they are being cut off from their routine businesses due to the collapsed of the only shortest route to the Damongo township.
speaking to this source, residents explained that school children of the Presbyterian schools, Amazing grace academy and the Damongo Agric college find it difficult to go to school due to the collapse of the footbridge.
They further explained that, tricycle or motorking and yellow yellow operators now charge them exorbitant prices because they have to use other different long routes that leads to Pastor-kura community.
The residents are therefore, appealing to the Assembly member for the Area, Hon. Adam Alhassan( APS ), the acting municipal Chief Executive who doubles as the Savannah regional minister, Hon saeed Muhazu jibril and Member of parliament for the Damongo Constituency and minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon Lawyer Abu Jinapor to come to their aid.
The residents have tried fixing the problem themselves severally through communal labour but failed to succeed.
