In a fervent address delivered in the Savannah Regional capital on Wednesday, 15th May, 2024 during Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s tour to the savannah region, the MP for Damongo and Minister for Lands and Natural resources, Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor underscored the formidable potential of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as the next president of Ghana.
As the 2024 presidential election approaches, Samuel Abu Jinapor passionately urged skeptics to reassess their views on Dr. Bawumia’s candidacy. Highlighting his visionary leadership and forward-thinking ideas, emphasizing that the upcoming election will be unprecedented in Ghana’s history.
“This election, the December election, is going to be an election we’ve never witnessed before in the annals of the history of our country. It’s going to be a unique election, an election for the youth,” Abu Jinapor declared, pointing out the high engagement of young voters in the ongoing voter ID registration exercise.
He also acknowledged the current economic hardships faced by many Ghanaians, including high living costs and unemployment among university graduates.
Despite these challenges, Samuel Abu Jinapor argued that Dr. Bawumia’s leadership is crucial for navigating the complexities of the modern economy, particularly in the context of the fourth industrial revolution.
Mr. Jinapor praised Dr. Bawumia’s unblemished record, noting, “Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has been in government for almost eight years. Not even an allegation of corruption has been leveled against him.” This integrity, coupled with his deep understanding of digital transformation, was presented as essential for Ghana’s progress.
The Damongo MP and Minister for Lands and Natural resources asserted that the 2024 election transcends traditional party politics, framing it as a pivotal choice between advancing with Dr. Bawumia or regressing with other candidates.
The call to action was clear: for the youth and for the future of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia stands as the leader who can harness the potential of the fourth industrial revolution and drive the nation forward, he added.
